HARWOOD MUSEUM, Mandelman Ribak Gallery, Taos, NM
As a consultant to Conron and Woods Architects of Santa Fe, I developed the design for a new gallery at the Harwood Museum in Taos. A horizontal skylit scrim in a broken vaulted admits filtered light into the gallery. Works in the gallery are lit by light similar to that which inspired the gallery’s painter-namesakes, Beatrice Mandelman and Louis Ribak. Retained in the final design is the ceiling’s broken vault but budget cuts eliminated the skylit scrim admitting daylighting.
